Valverde is close to returning to training and taking charge of the Premier League club

A press report issued today, Friday, indicated that the Spanish former coach, Ernesto Valverde, is close to returning to training again, after he left the Blaugrana in January 2020 due to poor results.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", Valverde is receiving great interest from Leeds United to sign him from next summer to succeed Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, who leads the team for the fourth consecutive season.

And the newspaper explained, “Belsa, despite doing a great job with Leeds, his contract expires at the end of the season and he has no intention of continuing despite the administration’s keenness on his survival, but the Argentine coach does not want to continue working for the fifth consecutive season.”

And the newspaper added that there are a number of names that have been put forward to replace Valverde in the event he does not agree with Leeds, led by American Jesse Marsh, the former German coach of Leipzig.

It is noteworthy that if the 58-year-old Ernesto Valverde takes over Leeds United to succeed Bielsa, it will be the second time he has coached a team after the Argentine, after he took over at Athletic Bilbao after Bielsa's departure in the summer of 2012.
